Cannonau grape is a symbol of Sardinia. A unique grape derived from Grenache that, over centuries, has developped exceptionnal properties thanks to the unique 'terroir' and climate of the Island. The science journal nature has published a study on the extreme longevity of Sardinian people and have discovered that Cannonau was a key element, making Sardinia one of the few 'blue zones' in the world. This seems to be related to the exceptionnally high content in polyphenols -3 times more than that of other grapes. Aside from it Resveratrol content, it is particularly rich in OPCs (Procyanidins).
